i just picked up a nice 93 yj with hard top and doors on it. plans are do a full width axle swap, 355sb, th350 and a np208. the question i have is im looking at the BTF full width kit, does anyone know how well this kit is made and also what size springs will be needed along with the soa do clear 37s or 38s easy? the jeep will be more of a driver then a trail toy but it will see some trails. thanks for the input guys

no info on the BTF kit. but on lift and tire size, for 37-38", on top of the SOA, maybe a 1.5" spring and some flat fenders. open up the rear wheel well some or even stretch and do a comp cut..... and drive the hell out of it. On my 95 i had sagging 2" lift springs (prob 0" lift with the 350) up front and stock XJ springs rear and a 2" body lift with 40" tires. with flat fenders i was gonna build up front and the comp cut i did in the rear this would have been plenty (but i sold it before it was finished). here's a pic for reference:

i would like to keep stock wheel base and stock fenders thou. so what im thinking is i may need to look in about a 2.5" spring and the soa so i wont be needing a body lift

going that high with stock wheelbase you start running into driveshaft angle problems...... not sure on the length of the drivetrain you are going with, but it's something to keep in mind.

I will say do not use a np208, try to find a 241 and do a shorty sye on it.

Since the thread was already brought back up, I will add my .02. You can use a 208 with some work... I ran a sbc/700r4/208 in my 93 YJ, but you will need to get rid of that slip yoke rear output. Find a 208D case out of a mid-80's dodge ramcharger and swap out the rear half of the case and output shaft... Fixed yoke chevy 208.

Its not done but i found a ford 208 and used the back half off of it with the chevy front half to make a sye. Not ran it yet but seemed to go together very nice. Havent done much to the jeep but hope to have it out by spring of next year. Suspension was done with a soa and a add-a-leaf in the front for the weight of the 350. Looking at 37 irocs now
