Anyone have anything that they would change about your SOA on your DD yj? Im looking for all the bad ideas before I start.

Definitely address the steering, a drop pitman arm doesn't cut it, as I've learned recently.
At least do a tie rod flip. Also a sye/cv is definitely needed.

You will not need the Tcase drop with the SYE and CV shaft. You will want to use your stock pitman arm with a high-steer set up.

The biggest thing I regret is throwing money into the d30. 800 bucks in an OX locker and never used it, now going to a 44. I assume your swapping axle(s) for the SOA, correct.

dont bother throwing money into the d30 and or d35....its just a waste, go with a 44 front/ and either an 8.8", 9", or 44 in the rear. try to get your skid plate as flat with the frame as you can.

hi steer with hydro assist is the best money ive ever spent. The high steer is the expensive part, the hydro assist can be done on the cheap. check out www.surpluscenter.com for awesome deals. They have the lines, fittings, and rams. I have about $130 in my hydro assist, and am glad i didn't just buy a kit because of the money saved.

Yes I if ever gett rid of this frigging engine I have I'm going to swap out axles. I dont have any reason to go bigger then a 8.8 or 9 and a 44 in front. I doubt I'll be doing much trail riding. But just in case.............

then why lift it. It will drive much better on the road stock. In fact, why did you buy a Jeep if your not going to put it on the trail??

The reason for the lift is to get rid of the body lift it had when I got it. Maybe I should of bought a Tercel or Accord

I would just trim your fenders and install TJ flares. Then if you wanted to lift it just do a spring under axle 2.5" lift. No sense in doing a SOA for just 33's.

Lift or no lift I'm going to get the 30/35 out from under it. I depend on what axles I get if I go SUA/SOA. Only reason I really said anything about it was b/c SOA would save a few bucks verses new springs

you can get a sye for $170 and then get an xj front driveshaft, and have it cut down and re balanced.

I got a xj ds for $40 and got it cut and balanced for a case of heinekin.
