ok i have a set of 3.5 inch 4wd hardware double military wrap springs on my 88 yj and was wondering if you could remove a leaf from the leaf pack to get more flex. its hard without a picture but the springs have 5 layers. The first 2 are not removable cause on the double wrap but then there are 3 more. which one would be the best to remove if it is even safe. i know it will lower the jeep a little but i am about to put on a small body lift (1 to 1.5 inches).

Has anyone done anything like this before? any info helps

I run 35-36s on it now and dont rub with the 35s but a little with the 36s and am thinkin with the 1 or 1.5 and a removed leaf i will be fine.

actually in the rear leafs there is only a total of 4 packs so the first 2 of those would not be removable.

I put 5 packs in the rear because the 4 stack drooped after about 18 months.

yea mine are about 3 years old and they sagged a lil after about a year but i want to take one out of each to get more flex

The droop was so bad that when my kids were in the back seat and I hit a pot hole they would scream from the very loud thud from the bump stops smashing. There was only an inch gap left.
