I am sure there is a thread for this already but I was unable to find it.Anyways I am looking to replace the current lift on my YJ.It's a rough country and according to the last owner it's a 3.5 inch lift.I also have 1.5 lift shackles and I can barely clear 31's so I think the springs may have lost any lift. It's clearly not a very old lift,so I am looking to see from everyone else's past experience what a good lift is that will last?I would like to get 3-4 inches and I will definitely need shocks. What does everyone think about SOA?The springs on it sit totally flat so they do articulate really well, maybe using them to do a SOA would be better?Anyone experienced at doing that conversion?.Everything else about the Jeep is stock,2.5, 5 speed, D35 rear,D30 front.Any info is greatly appreciated.

If you want to go SOA, I would get some stock leaf springs that have some arc to them. The conversion is not to bad, plenty of info on here on how to do it. If you SOA do a high steer setup.

If you want a new lift, BDS is the way to go. Lifetime warr. and they last forever.

Either way lose the 1.5 lift shackles. I've got 1" boom shackles on my 95 YJ, you will get mixed reviews on the booms but I like them.

RC is known to sag. I cleared 33s with my 3.5" fabtech lift. could've fit 35s with 1" BL and my shackles.

I like my boomerang shackles as well. mine are 0.75" lift.

SOA is great, your RC springs would do well as long as they are flat. the flatter they are the more articulation you can achieve generally.

Plan on running 35s or larger, and take gearing into consideration with that. and axles...the stock d35 wouldn't really hold up, an 8.8 is a great option.
and as said above, definitely do a proper high steer--don't cheap out on that.

oh, and the brakes may need some help with the larger tires if you're running stock axles. pretty easily accomplished, though.

SUA works good, BDS springs are awesome. I dont know what you want to spend, but Rubicon Express makes 1.5 lift leaf springs set up for a SOA conversion, they work great, will give you 6-7 inches of lift, perfect for 33 or 35 tires. Lower T case or get the slip yoke eliminator, get an 8.8 or Dana 44 for a cherokee for the rear. I assume you have 4.10 gears since you have a 4 cylinder. The BDS sprung under kit is good, military wrap, and they have an awesome warranty
