It looks like I blew out the bottom bearing in my 95 yj steering column. Does anybody know if a column for a 88 xj will swap out, I would not mind the tilt wheeel too.

Aren't Yj colums still the basic GM colums ? or was that just the CJ's ?

I used a 93 YJ (has a Chrysler key) in my 85 CJ. Direct bolt in. with the exception of the lower part which wasn't a big issue. The CJ, Chevy truck, Pontiac, and other GM's are all pretty much the same.(Saginaw) so I would take a look at it, most likely will work

i took one from an xj and put in a yj you just have too cut the xj mounting plate off the yj clamps arond the steering column no difference in the shaft i did this on a 89 yj

The Cherokee has a GM steering column. My 1986 Comanche has a GM steering column also.
