I still think you are crazy but i guess whats new right? haha Looks good Dave. I hope you are modding the Wallyworld Sniper buggy too because mine has the full treatment now. Flat belly, lowered, painted up, ect. :D Hope yours is competition ready!

my team is currently running 3 buggy's. Betta watch out!
I hope to be able to post some significant progress on the truck Monday!

any reason you didnt put the shackle on the back of the front springs instead of on the front x-member?

looks good other than that :)

as far as the shackle. after much reading, and watchig various rigs in action, it seemed like the choice.
Yeah studnuts, you want it back?:)
hopefully tomorow I will recieve a package that will show everybody the direction this build is going:smokin:

this week it should have 8 squirells inside!:driver:

did a little more work this morning. Cut the tub:

and made a tailgate area.
ai4.photobucket.com_albums_y122_35xj_NEWPICKUP021.jpg

the tub will get a couple of inches shorter still, but this allowed me to get an idea of it.
Cut the top of the hum out of the frame and reinforeced it
ai4.photobucket.com_albums_y122_35xj_NEWPICKUP024.jpg

this will allow for a future part of the project:D and also be a nice surface to mount bumpstops.

what does everyone think?

yep, it'll keep leaves. Running XJ rears, probably need another main leaf. got a few other ideas still to come!:)

Sweet Dave looks great I really dig this project. I talked to Hareball and we got your driveline figured out one of two ways you'll just have to pick. He followed my lead and thinking on both you'll have to just pick.....
Are we going to use some of that 1x1 tubing I've got for the bed frame?
Still need to get lewis over there to look at the tube seeming thing.
Talk to you tomorrow.

got a liitle more done on it today:)
got the tub cut and welded up to the right length, test fit the roof/windsheild

wow.thats going to be awsome. looking good already.
what do you plan for the back?
what kindoff bed are you going to use?

also. where did you get that top from and how much. i like it

tyler

its going to get a pickup style bed. notquite finnished figuring it out yet. :smokin:

Thats exactly how i did the body on my YJ. It will be at the DPG invite so you can see it there.

If I may make a suggestion, Use a jeep military trailer for a bed, it will look sorta like the gladiator concept.

sweet Dave, Looks awesome maybe I'll get a chance to see it when I come over to treadways to get my trailer. That thing is really going to be sweet.

Come on whenever your ready for it.

Dave's junk is looking good. I believe he is planning on H1's up front and re-centered H1's out back.

Good job buddy

Looking great guys, as always! Can't wait to see this thing!

got more done over the last few days. wrapped the back of the tub in sheet to clean it up
ai4.photobucket.com_albums_y122_35xj_NEWPICKUP039.jpg

Bent up some tube. these will be plated with steel and plastic and be attached to the frame full length
ai4.photobucket.com_albums_y122_35xj_NEWPICKUP043.jpg

then after several days of thinking and tube wasting i got the bed figured out
ai4.photobucket.com_albums_y122_35xj_NEWPICKUP044.jpg

ai4.photobucket.com_albums_y122_35xj_NEWPICKUP045.jpg

the bed will be skinned with sheet on the outside and lined with HDPE on all the inner surfaces. The cage will be internal in the cab and it will have some variety of cage in the bed.. Got the final color picked out (girlfriends choice:) )
its coming along well. dave
