Suggested typing your name into "Spokeo.com, Google, or Bing, & surprise yourself! Been awhile sense I have, so I did !!
Would never thought, that NC4X4, & your Club info, is a matter of PUBLIC RECORD !!! SURPRISE !!:shaking:!!
 
Just as general practice. You should assume that everything you send out of your house through your internet connection will be stored and publicly available forever.
 
Yeah, Im the senator of Missouri, hard to track me down too... if ya get past the senator bs, you find that I work for the NY Times, and if you spell my name wrong, Im the ceo of google.

Not sure the tone of your post (typing never conveys tone well.

But this is no doing of nc4 or any other forum. The way Google "optimizes" search engine performance is they have a program (or hundreds of them to be precise) that "crawl" every web page in existence and capture text files and then store them for reference against search entries.

Google is grabbing your info here because your username is your first and last name. If you changed your username to just say Rodney within a 90 day purge cycle all traces of you would disappear.
 
Hey, thanks Ron. Great information, and clears up what I did not know. This will help lots of people. It is amazing how much info is gathered, & the things we never think about.:uzi:
 
I've been on since the very early days of the net...you can even find me on usenet archives from waaaaayyyyy back. Doesn't bother me, I've never said anything that isn't (mostly) true on the 'net, and never said anything I wouldn't say in front of my friends, and maybe even my mother.

No drunk pics of me doing stupid stuff on facebook to be dredged up by a prospective employer.
 
I got nothing to hide...so no biggie to me. I'm an open book, if you wanna know dirt on me or my family, I'll spill the beans...doesn't mean I'm proud of it, but I'm not ashamed either. If somebody wants to track me down, they'll do it. If someone wants to kill me, they'll do it. If they want to steal my bank account number, they'll do it. That doesn't mean I'll advertise my sensitive information, but if someone wants it bad enough, they can get it from more places than just the internet.
 
Thanks to a life in academics and research publishing - you're going to find a hell of a lot on me well before NC4x4 comes into play.

and using the same screenname on every forum I join for the last decade dosn't help much.

I use a different one or the porn sites though... ;-)
