had a yard sale today, and a cop rode thru a couple of times, and stopped, and asked if we had a permit, we did, forgot to hang it, wow 2 dollars for a permit, and he was nice, and he said that the city had him ride around sometimes to check to make sure there were no violations. and he was a sargeant, so either city needs money, or he pissed of the mayor. maybe they should chase some real crooks.

is there really such thing as yard sale permits?????

Ive never heard of such a thing, thats pretty ridiculous

Ever seen a yard sale that never ended ?

I had a buddy who would go to yard sales, buy all the good stuff, bring it home mark it up and resell it at his yard sale.

His sales would last all summer long and into the fall.

The city finally instituted a permit which made you state days and times, and there had to be an closing day, not to last longer than 3 days.

Yes, he was basically running a business, and this is the purpose of the permit, to keep this from happening.

For being a drunk and pretty much unemployable, he made pretty good cash til they shut him down.

Never knew what happend to him after that......

Holy F'in Crap! What a crock of Sh!t! A permit for a yard sale because of ONE guy who had a decent idea for a business? ! Someone definately does NOT have enough to do. (I know lots of people who buy stuff at yard sales and then sell it at there own, just not a constant yard sale.)
