Anyone know how to get rid of the security on a 93 zj. Left me on the trail stranded. Had to get pulled back cause security wouldnt let the fuel pump cut on. HELP. And unlocking the door thing doesnt help. Its like security is always on even when the lights stop flashing. Just want it GONE!

There isn't a way to remove the brain, There is however a way to disable it. I ran into this issue when my 94 Grand cherokee would just randomly go off, and getting up in the middle of the night wasn't fun..

The Alarm brain is located in the dash, just below the glove box.. to get to it, you have to remove the passenger side of the dash, This involved removing the top cap, glove box, center bezel, so on and so forth. Once all cleared out of the way, the alarm box is just bolted to the dash bracing.

I found the easiest way was to run the "door lock trigger" to ground. I believe it's the purple wire. This will put the alarm in a permanent "disarm" mode.

Since then i have found a website that details disableing it without removing the whole dash.

1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee Security
Factory Disarm Purple/Yellow (-) Driver's Kick Panel Black Connector

Just run the "factory disarm" to ground in the kick panel. Much easier then messing around taking the dash apart.

like already said, tap into the purple/yellow wire in the drivers kick panel and take it to a ground. this will give the factory alarm a permanent disarm signal and it will never give you a problem again.

Thanks for the info but my problem isnt the alarm goin off. Its when i turn the key over the security light stays on and wont allow the fuel pump to cut on. The security indicator light suppose to flash. Mine stays on and then 2 min later it goes off, and fuel pump relay ticks then once its done it fires right up. But now the security light stays on and wont fire up.Someone told me it was my ecu. That its stuck in that security mode. But idk.

i would try the trick above, it might be the fix... there are alot more things that the security system on a ZJ does, then just an alarm... it has a kill switch in it as well, and wont let the jeep run, you can crank it, but it wont run...

Ill give it a shot

with the ZJ, if you pull the battery, the security system will automatically go off when you connect it back up... and if your remote or unlocking the door/hatch doesnt work, you are SOL

Fixed it. ECU was stuck in security mode. Got a used ecu and it crunk right up. Thanks for the help guys. I did ground that wire so i dont have to worry about security going off when i take the battery out. Thanks
