I'm looking at upgrading my steering system, The kit Rusty's sells looks good, especially for the price. Anyone use this setup, or another setup. I thought about the wj knuckle conversion, but I've got new rotors/pads/calipers already. I really want something that goes knuckle-to-knuckle. Not keeping the inverted Y setup.

Thoughts, opinions, suggestions?

"steer" away from the Rusty's setup. It is not a very good setup for many reasons.

I would actually stick with the inverted Y steering. Upgrade to the Currie tie rod and draglink with the beefier TRE's. It is super stout.

If you just want to upgrade your tie rod, go for the Big Daddy tie rod, I've bashed mine left and right and is still straight.

dvandiver, here is some more info about the WJ knuckle swap. This was done on a ZJ axle, but its essentially the same.

Check out the Teraflex knuckle and steering system. I'm not sure if they make it anymore, but we used in on a buddy's YJ that we did a SOA on and it worked great. It included a new pass. side knuckle, drag link, and tie rod. Works awesome.

a friend did the WJ swap on his MJ. other than having to go to a 16" wheel, he seems to really like it.
