Trying to find a good tie rod/drag link for my 98 4.0 zj that has about 5 inches of lift. Wanting something strong like 1 ton but without modification. Read a lot of bad reviews about rustys kit (RS-SC350-UV). the rugged ridge conversion kit (18050.82) says that it is not recommended for lifts greater then 4inches. Also price is important. Wanting to get out as cheap as possible with quality parts. Looking for recommendations and thoughts. Thanks

I'm running a used Currie y link steering with that tierod on my xj. It has worked great. The steering system was beat on before I received it and I've beat on it a little and it's still working great and it's pure beef. Or you could go ironman's full steering kit.

The best budget set up is a v8 zj tierod, that's what I ran for years and never had a problem with it. Stronger than stock, but not as strong as the mentioned aftermarket ones.

Barnes offset 1 ton.

I’ll second the V-8 tie rod setup. Beat the shit out of it for many years before I went to the 1ton setup. For factory parts it’s way more stout.

So my next question is would be what is better a y- link system or t-linked?

And should I go with tie rod inserts or reamer? (How hard is reaming the knuckles?)

The T style. Also, reaming is not hard if you have a sharp bit. Be careful and understand exactly how far you need to go. You can’t un ream them lol.

Do I need a reamer for the knuckles? I assume this is a t-setup not the y correct? Do you know where I can get a drag link for it?

Oh and most importantly........how much$$$$$$

I do not know about the knuckles unfortunately as I never ran this, I bought from BigGoofy on here from his old ZJ to run on my ZJ, but I sold it before I put this on. I would let it go for $80

Ok thanks man. I will let you know when I figure out what I'm going to do

I paid right at 100 bucks on amazon for the whole setup and have had great luck with it so far. Cant beat it for that price. 30k miles with decent offroad beating and all the ends are just as tight as when i got it.
