Or turn this into that.

A parallelogram is like two triangles without wasting a bar in the middle.

Stronger and lighter!

@stinkbomb has a BS in Weld Engineering, and his experience backs up his credentials ten fold. Top notch dude that knows what he's doing for sure.

You are barking up the wrong tree @Fabrik8

I'm not barking up any tree, no need to defend anyone. Good design and good fabrication are a perfect match, and that's all I want for everyone.
Sorry to ruffle feathers...

You post is the equivalent to telling an expert in their field, not to forget one basic part. Just reads like a slap in the face.

Similar to telling an electrician not to forget voltage drop., Or an architect not to forget meeting the code while a house still needs to look nice.

Again, my apologies to anyone I've inadvertently offended. Whether it happens or not, I don't set out to piss off anyone.

The roll bar in the picture is not braced. If you're going to modify or copy that design, might as well add a cross brace. That was my only point.

@Mac5005 chill bro. @Fabrik8 was simply stating the obvious because of Fuller fabrication et al. And FWIW, many welding engineers know a lot about chemistry and materials, and much less about the mechanical side of things. It amazes how little some of the welding engineers I've worked with know about static and dynamic mechanics.

Met him last night at the shop. He didn't have a 2" bender thingy, but I found a trampoline on Craigslist. Gonna use the legs cuz it's already got the 90 degree in it. It'll be perfect. Gotta fire extinguisher mounted on there so the Rubbermaid fuel cell will work too.

Joking^^^^^

WOW...
o_O

I'm not "around Raleigh". But I can duplicate that rollbar if you don't find anybody local there!

Got the stinky on it thx. It's one of the old fj roll bars. I'm doing a resto on this 71 and needed it modified to work with my frame tie ins and for shoulder seat belts. Thx all and fuller on!

I've literally missed all of this until just now. Was good for a laugh.

What shielding gas should I run when I stick weld it? Thinking about piping acetylene through an arc gouging stinger...

I also don't answer calls when I'm on the clock at ECGS, other than on my lunch break.

And @StretchASU it's the middle school marching band.

Sooooooo....... stinky. Where were you last week. Hope you have good excuse for missing our date on Wednesday.
