Vehicle: 2010 Dodge 3500 cummins, 2WD, auto.

Duties: 24' stock trailer, 42' toy hauler, daily driver as well when I'm not riding the Harley.

Need: tires. Current tars are Mastercraft Courser HXT. They have been amazing. Almost 50k and still holding strong but getting to the point I need to buy new. I am looking at getting something a bit more aggressive while maintaining road manners and longevity. What have you ran, how long did they last. And, go....

Fiddy? I run those again!

People don't understand the importance of air pressure and proper rotation. I would absolutely buy these again and for the price it's a no brainer but (yes, I know it 2wd) I have been in some situations where a bit more grip would have paid dividends!!

If you liked the Mastercrafts, check out something like the Cooper AT3 or ST Maxx. They're the ones that make Mastercraft tires anyway. I'm a big fan of Coopers!

I'm running Toyo AT2 on my 2500 4x4 Dodge. About 15k so far with little noticeable wear. They're quiet on the road and have a reasonably aggressive tread for an AT.
I tow a 34' goose with 2 rigs on them, 26' camper and DD duties as well.
They're not a "cool" looking tire necessarily, but I'm really happy with them.

They're definitely not a bad looking tire though!

My bill isn't flat enough to have "cool" tires... it is only flat enough to have functional tires ....

I'm running the toyo at2s as well. Only have 9k in them so far. Smooth, quiet no noticeable wear yet.

I'm not sure of the specifics but apparently toyo makes 2 different at2s. Me and my dad have the same tires and the tread is different on mine . My sidewalls say at2 xtreme...but looking at their website there doesn't appear to be an extreme and non extreme version. Not sure what to make of it

Certain sizes are listed as extreme, or XT.

These have 45k on them. Probably another 10k left in them.

@skyhighZJ Do you want taller, wider, or both?

235/80-17 is 31.8 x 9.25.
A 265/70-17 is 31.6 x 10.4.
Toyo also has a 255/80-17 or 33 x 10.

They're a very common size too, so there's a multitude of options for tires. Just have to make sure the sidewalls don't make love when you bolt up the rears. I don't think you usually have to worry about that until you get up to a 285 width, but don't hold me to that.

Looking for a bit taller which I assume inherently brings a bit of width but I don't want touchy cause I have no intentions of using any type of spacer. I think they look crappy when duallys stick way out the side. maybe that's why tools run around with their tow mirrors up so they can see around them tars?

I think either the 265/70 or 255/80 would work well for you.

Well I finally pulled the trigger on some new tars. Went with the toyo a/t II in a 255/80-17. Found a deal online with 10% coupon and free shipping. Funny enough they are coming from a warehouse in NC. I’ll install them at the auto skills shop on post so mounting and balancing per tire is only $5 and I’ll know their truly at 0 for balance instead of some meathead “good enough”.

I love my copper st maxx havnt Hauled with them yet, so can't say how that will go but road manners are great and from what I researched before buying from others they will go to 50k some have reported 60k in Australia!

It was a toss up based on the recommendations from here on the forum. The Toyo’s were too good a deal to pass up tho

That's cool!! I can send ya pics of a set of toyo mt 38x13.50 all highway use that's got 50k and still some meat left on the bone, their def good tires!

I'm running Falken Wildpeak AT's on mine and I like them a lot so far.
hopefully they changed the rubber compounds, my dad and i both bought a set when falken first came out with the ATs or at least when the tire guy started using them. on a 250&350 daily driving up and down gravels roads, neither set lasted over 6 months.

Mind sending a link for the Toyo's? I actually have decided on the exact same set for my dually. I was going to call Discount tire this week and check their price.

I got the AT2's if that changes things, who knows. So far so good, but I don't drive a ton.

Catalog

Got a 10% coupon and free shipping. All 6 are at the house and I paid just under 1k. @Tacoma747

Not sure how you got them for under $1k. I waited until this morning and called around, but still ordered them online. $1,079 delivered for 6 255/80r17 Toyo at2's. They were over $1500 from discount tire.
