Housing market trash

I'd gladly trade some "lowest common denominator" people for some highest common denominator immigrants.
Yes, we have an idiot problem in the USA. From the top down.

However, not 100%, but for the most part, the vast majority of the human imports are the lowest of the low. The poor, the destitute, the unskilled, the uneducated. These are the people that 'can't make it' in the countries they are coming from.

Now, I understand what the statue of liberty says, I know what the constitution says, I know what the bible says.

But I also live in the real world and can look around and pretty quickly understand that since we currently are on a race to the bottom, that we should not be fueling it with fire. We have enough problems policing and enforcing the people here now, why import more?

I'd like to see statistics on that.
It takes a fair bit amount of work and money to move to the US.

Sooooo basically you can pick and chose what fits your narrative in terms of what America stands for, what its constitution says and same for the bible. What's the difference with people who have issues with the 2nd amendment or nit pick what's in the bible to end up with an opposite point of view from you ?

Can't pick and chose. Gotta take it all in and deal with the compromises and shortcomings of different positions.

I think we can all agree on that.

Unfortunately this is just doing a good job of personifying your first statement.

Do you know anything about the statistics of immigrants? What are the requirements to immigrate here?
And since I'm guessing all of your assumptions are based on illegal immigration, what % of annual immigrants that remain here year-year are illegal? And of those, what % are border-runners vs overstayed visas etc?

I'll take the dude that walked from 4 or 5 countries away, or built a makeshift raft and floated across shark infested waters over the people too pathetic to find a job with 2.8% unemployment.

Statistically, the vast larger % of unemployed folks are minorities who are 2nd+generation in the country (e.g. citizens).

Personally, every person I know that is an immigrant busts their ass and is very happy to work.

The awkward moment when the anonymity of the internet allows one to be the asshole without intending to be, while intending to be a different asshole.

whos being awkward? your point?

Its well known we have a deadbeat problem and a handout problem. I didn't cause it.

Why, when we have enough problems with the base citizen population, would we want to bring in more before we have our own house in order?

This is what I can't understand. (yes, I understand it....some think it will mean more votes and some thinks it will mean more money for themselves somehow...more of a take on how simple the fix is if anyone really cared)

This is my only point, and yet you resort to assumptions and name calling. Obviously you're capable of rational discussion. /s\

Cool.

My questions contain the answer.

That awkward moment when you are embarrassing yourself and everyone in the room except you sees it.

When one finds themself at the bottom of a hole, step 1 is to stop digging.

That requires recognition of the hole.

This is why.
Indeed, as the authors write in the paper, “Immigrants appear to play a relatively strong role in expanding labor demand relative to labor supply, compared to the native-born population.”
