just bought a kauffman's trailer, i was curious wat i should ask for? it has 2 3500# axle double brakes, about 1000 miles of towing.... i payed 2350 for it... wat would be a goof asking price for it thanx

so you just bought it and now you want to sell it?

Well Id say take what you paid and deduct 20% and start there

What options does it have? I have a kaufman trailer with the following options: extended 20 foot deck (18 ft deck 2ft dovetail), Diamond plate full deck, removable fenders, 10K jack, 3500# axles both w/brakes, stake pockets and rub rails down the side, spare tire mount w/spare (never touched the ground), 6 welded D-rings into the deck, and slide in/out ramps. What year is the trailer? what kind of shape? I have had my trailer for 18 months now and have put maybe 2500 miles on it if that. Do you have any pics? I gave you the specs for mine to give you an idea of what they cost new. Mine came standard as a wood deck, 18 ft, hard mounted fenders, like a 3500lb jack, smaller axles, and no stake pockets or rub rails. It was around 25-27 hundred w/no options. I think the added options was around $800. Granted steal was alot less a few years ago. Need to look at what it would cost new and then go from there with a decent amount taken off for it being used. Just my .02 Good luck

For a trailer I don't care how many miles you say you put on it. I go with condition. For a used single car trailer I would struggle to pay more than $1500. It might just be a couple months old, towed by a little old lady, and only used on sundays. But there is no proof to that. With good tires, good lights, a breakaway kit I would pay $1500 if it looked to be in very very good shape.

I've seen alot of crappy trailers FS for as much as a new one, course that doesn't mean they get that for them. I'd put it in the trading post/truck trader for 2 bout 2100. Makes sure it's nice and shiny when someone comes to look at it.

One thing I will tell you is if you want to sell it for close to what you paid for it, don't waste your time posting it here for the cheapskates to look at.

Spot on, the internet forum is a buyer's market. Everybody on here especially knows what a good deal is, and they don't want to have electronic proof of a bad deal because that leads to a large e-wang regression.

If you want to sell it send me some details via PM... Im talked w/ Mike at Kaufman today and I'm picking up a trailer Monday/Tuesday of next week...

What Length, brake setup, etc...

Might help to know the exact dimensions. For example a 6-1/2' deck will be "worth" less for most versus a 7'. Dovetail vs. non-dovetail, etc.

I'd love to take it off your hands but it's a bit pre-mature for me, still shopping for a house to keep it at!

when he's ready to sell it, im sure he'll do the right thing and post a FS ad in the correct section, possible post some pictures and dimensions for a speedy sale.. :D
