How much have you towed before ?

towed a 78 Cherokee chief on a car trailer from Tellico to Black Mountain with my CJ5 :D

I have towed a 7500 lb air compressor on a 2000 lb trailer with my 06 Silverado 2500 HD 6.0 gas work truck that weighs 7400 lbs....no Mods except for the funny looking drivers seat afterwards

Have towed a gooseneck with 2 jeeps on it to Moab, UT and back 4 times(4000 mi round trip). with a 2005 F350 crew cab, dually, Lariet, 6.0, no mods(buddy's truck). Not one issue, not even a flat tire on the trailer.

A fully loaded 6x12 enclosed u haul trailer behind my Cherokee from NY to NC and back to NY mods at the time were 2" lift with 31's. It did start to puke trans fluid just south of Richmond VA. Tow my XJ to URE often behind my bone stock 03 Ram 1500.

99 F250 7.3, manual, 2wd, CCSB.

Not much done to it, really. BHAF intake, 4 inch exhaust, exhaust brake, LuK Clutch, gauges, DP Tuner 80HP Econo tune on the PCM.

I have regularly towed 2 place trailers, both goose and tag, grossing 20-22k. Short and long trips, from a couple of hours to a couple thousand miles.

I hate to be "that guy" that says it tows like it isnt even there, but its close.

You need to plan your merges, and it accelerates a little slower. It brakes very well with the exhaust brake.

Besides that, get on the highway and set the cruise control. EGT's will creep up to 1100-1150ish in highway grades, but it usually does not require a downshift. The Carbon County hill going to Paragon was a 9% grade, vs. a 6% freeway grade. It is the only hill I have had to watch it on.

Over all, I think it does a great job for what it is.

You Boys are small time!!!

I once towed my 15,000 lb M-35 on a 20 ft tag alog trailer (2500 lbs)behind my 77 cj5 (6cyl) from vermont to key west...strait thru..only stopped once to fuel up and pee..not a single issue all the way!! I did have the 5 heavily moded...CHROME....Lots of CHROME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not really just pulling jeremy's chain!!:burnout::burnout::burnout: But I did tow a 77 camaro once with my 74 Vw bug through downtown sarasota fla with a rope!

Towed a Case 310 dozer with my F350 a few days ago, but the heaviest load was 26 Dana 60 fronts and a 73 BMW bike on a gooseneck from Massachutes to TN

28 tons of concrete sand from pageland,sc to charlotte,nc(back when the sandholes would let you leave heavy).this was done with a 77 peterbilt day cab using a 39 ft dump trailer, also done at night so less traffic(and yes i have had to talk to d.o.t. officers for this reason before, but not lately.older and wiser i guess.)

a 26k lb generator and 250gallons of diesel
towed with a 98 CTD DRW flatbed

Pulled fine pintle sucked

my dad towed a loaded 22ft box trailer(about 8k lbs) with my old 92 mitz montero. the trailer hitch almost touched the road, and it blew both rear shocks, and basically led to the car being scrapped. Never tried that again... poor montero

With my 96 350 CC 4x4 and 460...I used to haul dies back and forth for my dad's shop. Most I ever had was a 3 ton die in the bed and a 10 ton die on a trailer...shortly after that, Dad bought a F700 flatbed...haha.

here was another good one.

With a 95 F250 gas truck we pulled a kenworth and trailer totaling a little over 55k....not on a trailer but flat towed it 12 miles or so to the owners shop....it was an interesting proposition and Id never do it again but I did it once...

I towed a large school bus across N.E. Philly one time, with a Chevy Cheyenne tow truck. It had a Holmes 440 wrecker on it.
Old strap sling, it was just before wheel lifts hit the scene.

Couple of sketchy moments since the was very little weight on the front wheels. I was amazed the leafs held up.

Had to back it down a long driveway, & jack it into the mechanics bay. Tight quarters, but got it all the way in on the first shot. Had to clean it, as the boss was watching.

The cable broke two weeks later, when I lifted a Cadillac from the front. The cable broke at the winch spool, & whipped over the car's roof creasing it badly & popping the windshield out.

Man was that lady mad!:shaking:

 That would make an awesome commercial

I've towed several Link Belt 220 excavators... they weigh about 75,000lbs (75 THOUSAND) and are just under bridge height when tucked.

stock truck :flipoff2:

02 f250... afe stage 2 intake, 4" exhuast to include downpipe, firestone air bags, power hungry chip. 23,220 lbs. got 10.5 mpg.

wifes YJ, my CJ5 and the golfcart with spinners...

Towed a Skytrack tele fork 15miles with an '88 Ford Superduty wrecker, anything over 15mph and it started to hop, that sucked.

Towed a 26ft Uhaul moving van LOADED with car trailer 12 miles with a '94 GMC 3500HD wrecker ( dual winch boom with truck sling) , again, never really went over 20mph, realized when I went to turn into the U-Haul center that I had very little steering, had to "bounce" the front end to get it to turn.

'94 3500 HD wrecker pulled crew cab F-350 dually with goose neck 35ft deck over with 2 Johnny poppers, clutch went out on the dually, pulled it 50ish miles to the Ford dealer in Champaign IL, then had to park the whole thing, backing all that up was quite interesting, but very doable.

Couple of RV's with trailers with an '85 F-350 wrecker with 6.9L idi and a 4speed, top speed of 55, but it would pull anything.

son I towed a red snapper lawn mower with a pipe and chain behind my 72 ford pinto on racing slicks. Had her in granny low goin' up old fort mountain but my ol lady was still holdin' on back there steerin' it like we stole it........... oh yeah we did steal it:fuck-you:
