Of course not, why use coat hangers when there is plenty of filler rod for the tig rig to use and its much more expensive.

Not anymore, he's in Wilson and I'm still in the megapolis of Reidsville.
Still he had a clue from the beach trip.
And yes cutting splines on a shprtened D44 axle for a wide track CJ width 44 that I'm putting togather.

How much do you charge to do that?? I am looking to cut down a set myself.

How did it work out this time??

Looks like the side gear fits well!!

Get some good practice, I might need some in the future.

I got a cut down 8 lug 44 front for a CJ soa if interested. What do you charge to respline?

This was my first attempt and had 3 of the 4 shafts that I did turn out excellant, tool broke on the 4th one and started over a little too deep so its a little looser than I like. I made aa new cutter that uses replaceable cutting bits yesterday and hope to try it out when I pick up a couple more shafts.
I'm doing this on the "gov'mt" job program at work so I cannot take orders.
I may however be able to slip one in every now and then if you are really really not in a hurry.
