What have you done to your rig today?

Ready for paint. Y’all have any tips for final cleaning? I was just going to wet some towels with brake clean and wipe everything down.

got my 2x6 rockers welded in, next weekend I start the cage install.

Getting this welderd cage installed today.

Went together fairly well. I tacked it up then fit the
outer to the interior.

The section behind the seats dictates where the halo goes. The rest really just falls in place.

If you run 2x6 rockers, be aware of where the support is in relation to the bottom of that said first section. If your lucky you can attach the cage right to it.

I trimmed a bit to much on the rear legs. Also made bolt down pads for those supports.

I just have the windshield left. Then axle swap and body trims.

All fitted and top is back off and welded up. Made the top bolt on also. Will weld the inside structures tomorrow and hopefully rattle canned..

Finally got around to swapping the knocking piston out. Wrist pin seemed good, rod bearing looked pretty worn out, the piston had typical carbon build up above the top ring, but one side of the piston seemed… cleaned/scrubbed. Wondering if that is a sign of piston slap? Didn’t get pict of it, but I’ll get one later.

Cylinder wall looked clean, so I threw some new bearings on the piston @Jody Treadway sent me and slapped it in.

Didn’t quite get done today, but got the head and rockers back on, all but two annoying manifold bolts, and still have all the other shit to put back.

Also notice the OE coil! Still going strong! That was a surprise!
