It lives
Got the new tune installed today and she fired right up.
Let it get to operating temp, burped the coolant, changed the oil and refilled with fresh 0W-40 synthetic. Pulled it outside and pressure washed the stank away.
Got some minor punch list stuff to knock out this week like AC recharge, new dipstick tube and a good test drive.
I've done the resonator delete on my durango rt and its ok. Better than sounding like a grandpa truck. Can't say I've knowing heard one done the other way around.
Well, the SRT is done. I had a pesky check engine light that I thought was in the "turn off MDS" tune. Come to find out, you gotta plug the camshaft oil actuator back in after deleting the MDS. I dug the harness out of the trash and plugged it back in. All good!
The transfer case had the way too common issue of a knocking sound at idle when shifting from D to R. Does it for about 5 seconds and stops for a while. Also, it was binding up when turning. A new Transfer Case Control Module (FDCM) cleared it up. Luckily, SRTs are so common (sarcasm) they give them FDCM away (more sarcasm). But it's fixed and totally done.
Definitely glad I decided to rebuild the engine instead of buying a long block. Saved a bunch of coin and I know 100% how it went together.
