Thats not an outrageous price for the panel upgrade. Adding the receptical seems a little strong though but idk what your layout is.
As someone who has installed a few hundred EV chargers. For home personal use
- Buy the damn Tesla brand charger, dont try to save a few bucks.
That's a surprisingly reasonable price for a panel upgrade, especially if this is a decent sized company like Rod says. This is the quote. Obviously, I want this done right, but also don’t want to pay an arm and a leg if I don’t have to. I don’t need a 240v as the 120v will do just fine for my needs, it would just be nice to have to faster option if I ever needed it. I am just nowhere near even remotely knowledgeable in electrical work.

OP: Thanks, I got a quote for a 14-50 plug.
Based on OP's posting history, it is highly likely he is going to ignore the next two things I post () but I will offer unsolicited advice anyway.
I feel like I paid around $1500 some 15 years ago, went from 100 to 200 w/ the o.g. switched over to a sub as mentioned above. That's a surprisingly reasonable price for a panel upgrade, especially if this is a decent sized company like Rod says.
If his super sized golf cart is a Tesla, he will want to buy the Tesla mobile 240/120 charger (~$250) or the fixed charger. I think the fixed one was like $400. I went with the mobile. I keep slack in the cable and have never had an unintended pullout.. take that however you would like....Which is precisely why I said:
The problem with the 1450R is the sleeve depth from the face. If an owner isnt careful to fully plug in or allows something to hit or pull the plug out even the slightest, under heavy charging you create a thermal event.
There are reddit communities full of melted chargers, cords, and burned walls.
The tesla wall connector just eliminates all that. It also means OP has to now buy a charger in addition to the fee he is paying for the outlet install. Curious what charger he is planing on buying. This is one of those - dont cheap out on import junk it will bite you in ass.
When I was at NP and we owned USAPLUG - I remember quoting a resi charger install. The guy was the typical all show to impress people. He had a jacked up diesel truck with all kinds of accessories and no name import tires on it. He saw my pocket knife and told me all about his high end knife collection all with custom cerakoted scales and mods. Had A sweet AR with all sorts of engraved badging ..just 'look at me' nonsense everywhere. Had bought a brand new (then) Rivian. But cheaped out on the charger install and went with a level 1 120V setup. It took like 4 days to recharge from 10%. So we were quoting a level 2. He pulled up alibaba and showed me a $74 home level 2 charger, said he had already ordered it and just wanted me to quote the installation. Nope'd the hell out of there.
