The new to me get together rig has a wonky CV JOINT at the axle end of the front driveshaft. It is shot. What are my options. I can rebuild the CV with a $65 dollar kit:

But, I would think a u joint is a stronger way to go given what I intend to do with the Heep. Also found this on Amazon?

It would appear this puts a ujoint in place of the CV but is compatible with the cv flange on the pinion side??

Any help would be great. Not trying to spend a fortune as this is literally a toy for a couple weekends and probably going down the road.

I think I have the shafts left from the WJ part out I did. Probably different lengths though. Could be had for cheap if they would work.

Rebuild really isn’t that bad. I used an Amazon kit on my WJ front shaft and it was pretty simple after watching a YouTube video.

I have a Dana 30 yoke if you need it.

If memory serves, the XJ shaft will be around 2" shorter than the ZJ requires. You'll also need a 1310 CC yoke for the 249.
Front will be 32 spline, so a typical 231 SYE yoke is all you need.
Yoke on the TC end as it sits is a 1310 double cardan. I think for the front the problem is solved but the vs. 2.0 in my above post on Amazon. On to the rear and some factual strength numbers at the 35 vs. a 44a or finding a 8.8 and spending a bit of coin on the weld ont bracket kit.

Edit: will grab some pics tomorrow.

44a is *fine* as far as strength. But very, very limited traction aid options.
Id go 8.8 and don't spend coin on the 44

Edit: I built the one in my wife's ZJ but I had a set of JK44 gears on the shelf (they fit the 44a) and the correct yoke. So we were in it for like $180 for the Spartan. If I was starting ober again, I'd either get an ECGS 8.8 or a ECGS 489 rear. I'm not sure of your ability to weld the mounts on an 8.8. So if you are capable, rock on with a swap kit.
