Got a 00 tj never really wants to start on the first try takes about three times before it starts if not more. Had a new coil put on last year and didn't nothing? Any ideas

Probably needs a fuel pressure regulator.. they have an anti drain back valve that has failed, letting the gas drain back into the tank after sitting for a while. Everywhere will want to sell you a whole pump assembly, but the regulator is a separate part and can be replaced... from what I've read, never done it though..

If it is the fuel pressure regulator allowing fuel to drain back to the tank, that is easy to verify. Test the fuel pressure at the schrader valve before starting the engine. You'll have low or no pressure if it drained back to the tank.
Is the check engine light lit? The cam position sensor and the crank position sensor can be suspect. If they are not accurately telling the computer where the engine is in the cycle, the engine can have a hard time starting and/or running.

No check engine light does sit a fair amount. Once it cranks it doesn't have any problems runs cherry just getting it to crank I'll check the fuel pressure
