Thinkn about swaping my current 242 case out of my 01 xj to a 231 w/ sye, but was wondering if I should just stick w the 242 and put a sye on it, it has 32s now but don't every plan to put any bggr than 34s max on it iv heard mix revews about the case any info appreciated:beer:

231s are alomst unbreakable. I got 231s in my 90xj and my 94 zj. i dont plan on changing anytime soon.

Yea iv had 231s in all 6 of my other jeeps and just don't knw about this 242, its held up fine so far but wondering if I should swap a. 231 in now or wait till I gernade the 242 and start saving for a atlas

if you plan on 34s at max the atlas will be over kill. for the price of an atlas you could build a dana300 with a flip kit. but then with 34s thats also over kill.

if you have the 231 with a sye then i say to swap it in. the 242 have a tendancy of sticking in 4wd. ive had 1 and a buddy had one.
how much lift do you plan on with the 34's? if you keep it low then the sye isnt a need at the moment, but the sye (full kit with shaft) is 30% stronger and the drive shaft will be a lil stronger also

Yea I was saying when ever my 242 exploded then it would be time for the Atlas w/tons and 36s.
But for the foreceably future I only plan to run 34s at the MAX but probly just 33s, right now I have a Full Traction 3.5" Lift w/ 32swampers, and its all good,
Next mod will be shackels/spacers and JKS rear shock tower& lower mounts, I dont ever plan to be any taller than 4.5-5.5 for 34-35s
Iv just heard mix reveiws about the 242Case, And was wondering if it was worth rebuilding w/ sye when it did gernade and stay together w/ 33-35s or just swap to a 231 w/sye, that should be a direct swap right?
(and yes a full sye and shaft, the only way to go.. I KNOW!)

no problem. Im always here to help
