I've been meaning to buy a wideband 02 sensor for my Jeep since I started learning how to rebuild and tune the Holley that was on it.

Are there any differences in the ones on the market? Are some better than others?
Massdrop just added this drop today, if it seems OK I'll probably go ahead and bite the bullet to save $50. Just don't know enough about them, and haven't seen one with a control box before either..

Anything PLX, AEM, or Innovate makes usually works really well. The controller box is a very standard thing, as wideband O2 sensors like the Bosch LSU-series need a specific controller chip to function and to output a conditioned signal, and you also need some interface functionality for a standalone unit. Something like the Bosch LSU controller is usually built into the ECU, which is why you don't normally see it on a factory vehicle.

I bought a old innovate lc 1 and separate gauge a few years back for tuning my TBI setup. I've also tuned the holley carb on my Fairlane and my uncle's c10 with it. Just this past winter the O2 died. I bought a new one from autozone for $45. It used the older style wideband o2 and the controller was bulky, but it worked great.

I wanted a permanent one on my fairlane, so I bought the innovate 3844 (I think, there's a powersport and non powersport version, power sport has a shorter cable for ATVs or bikes). It uses the newer lc2 controller that is easier to do calibration on (no need to add an extra push button to enter Cal mode) it's smaller and this guage has both the digital and an outer led ring that acts like an analog reading. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another today. It was only $160ish on Amazon too.
