02 yukon 4wd light on

The check 4wd light is coming on every so often on my wife's 02 Yukon XL 5.3. Everything still engages like it should, no noises of any kind. Light just comes and goes. Seeing if anyone has a idea where to start looking. Thanks

you need to get it checked for codes.
it is most likely the encoder motor, or the switch, both are very common problems.

Thanks for the info, I'm probably going to have her take it somewhere sometime after she gets off work.

Yep, the switch is the most likely issue, after that the encoder motor, very common, and very easy to fix, also sometimes it is just a sensor in the encoder and not the motor itself.
