'04 Grand Cherokee Cylinder head

If I'm not mistaken, the '04 range was the crappy head casting for the 4.0l. looks like you can get a 4.0 head from Rock auto for $430. I can pick the Jeep up fairly cheap, but is it worth putting a remanned head on it? Can I put a head from a better vintage 4.0 on this block?
 
Is there confirmed problems with the '04 engine? They are all 0331 head but if it is marked with "TUPY" then they are not the same heads that the 00-01 XJs have that crack so much. You should be able to read "TUPY" by removing the oil cap and looking down on the head through the hole. From what I have read is that TUPY is a better casting. This also has head differences between the years :usa:
