Is there anyone that has the clear and cut answer on what has to be done other than the obvious (Ubolt auto shift, toss, and insert manual trans with components) for this swap? Been reading up on it some and keep finding conflicting information. Some say you can retain the factory auto ecu and wiring harness and just tap into the reverse light and neutral safety switch circuits. Others have said you will need a manual ecu and/or harness.

It's integrated to an extent to the ecu. Plus my Jeep I think has the skim/sentry key bullshit which may kill the swap entirely. Or at least from what I've read about it and swapping fem auto to manual.

Skim can be recoded I believe. I'll check when I'm at work tomorrow. I'll also doubled check the ECM/TCM. If all else fails. You could always reflash your ecm with a manual calibration..
