Ya same here. 4" shorter 20lbs lighter 310hp 330tq I believe it will be a great package. It's going to be a slow process but well worth it. I intercepted it on the way to the yard with the infamous dropped valve seat.

I think the 4.7 is ideal for the size of a jeep, and should be a factory option. The Hemi's are overrated, only making those big horse numbers way up in the rpm range. Biggest drawback to the 4.7 is lack of aftermarket support.

^ I agree with sqrl$$ on the Hemi comment. I've wheeled with a few Hemi Jeep Commander's, the real power comes in around the 3k or more rpm range. And then when it comes, it all comes at once, no slow build up of power. It's like ok no power, more gas, more gas, BOOM, full horespower and torque. And then you are on the brakes to stop the vehicle because you have just launched over the rock unintendtionally.

I'll be watching this build. I think it's cool because its not a normal swap. Good luck man can't wait to see it in action.

My buddy has an 08 Dakota crew cab 4x4 and that little jewel will sh!t and get! It has no problems hanging with my Silverado off the line and holding it's own from a 55 roll against my Cummins powered K30. Quite a potent little motor!

A friend and I are doing a swap in his 04 TJ Rubicon, but we're going GM. He's getting the old 4.8 from my Silverado. 70lbs lighter, moves the whole drivetrain forward 3", and aftermarket is only limited by how much you want to spend :D

I'll be keeping my eye on this though. Quite interested.

I think the 4.7 is a great choice, like others have said, should have been a factory option. Plus the fact its overhead cam instead of pushrod adds to the cool factor. My mom's got an 04 WJ with the 4.7 and Quadradrive, and its stupid fast off the line.

Looking foward to this, I really like the 4.7s. Have one in our wj, good torque and power plus its stupid fast. . . .for a jeep at least:D

Just picked up a 45RLE for 92 bucks lol! Was kinda hoping for 545 but im thinking it will be ok with the 4.11's and 33's hopefully I don't kick my self later for not having the 0.67:1 OD of the 545... and hell the price was right!

The biggest reason why I didn't do a HEMI or 4BT is because I currently have 500 bucks in the whole thing and it's almost ready to lower in and start making mounts. And the 4.7 is just a damn cool motor. The challenge will be programming and wiring.

That's a truck 545, may wanna look for a Jeep version. Packaging the starter, exhaust and front driveshaft may be a chore. Just an FYI...

We have the trans and case for the 4.7 out of an 02 that is the part time 4wd if you would be interested in going that route

Looks good! Can't wait to see it running and doing burnouts :D
