So, my girls got a old fleet truck... crank windows, vinyl floor, anemic 2.3L 4banger, but it has killer AC! :D

Anyway, started looking into cruise control, figuring it could be swapped in from a junker, but... absolutely no signs it was prewired for the servo like the older trucks. Some info indicates it may be DBW and with the additions of some switches on the steering wheel and an ECM flash = CC.

However, the majority of that info is sketchy, so hoping some of the Ford heavies (@Tim C) might have the answer?

I'm not sure on rangers but I know on a diesel superduty, you just swap the steering wheel and clock spring then reflash and it works.

If the ranger is dbw then it should be the same. Dbw vehicles didn't have a separate servo. It's all handled in the ecm.

I put ac on a 11 ranger that came without it. We bought the compressor, condenser, lines, drier, and outside of firewall HVAC box plus the aux electric fan from a junk yard. Every bit of wiring was already on the truck except two wires to the high side pressure switch. They were on the truck side of harness but not the engine side. I spliced into the wires before the engine harness main connector and ran them to the high side switch. The ac worked fine with no flashing. The ecm would request the ac relay like factory. You may be able to just buy a steering wheel and clock spring in a yard and try it.
