'08 Rubicon Sway Bar Issues?

My friend is having issues with his '08 Rubi (2-dr) that he's trying to figure out. Here's what he posted on Facebook:

The sway bar light on my 08 rubicon keeps blinking when im in 2hi. if i switch to 4hi and turm it on then back off again itll stay off until i turn the jeep off and thdn back on. i checked the plug and it does look like water has been inside but theres no corrosion. what problems would i run into if i removed the whole front sway bar assembly all together? its bound to fail at some point and after seeing replacement costs, i dont want it near me haha

Tell him to disconnect his battery for a few minutes so the computer will reset. When I first bought my '07 Rubicon I got it confused when I went too fast and it decided it wanted to lock back up on it's own. Light flashed for a day until I disconnected battery. It has been fine since and that was at least a year and half ago. Now I make sure if I think I am going to go more than 10 mph to lock it first. Another trick I learned is to lock it just before I get off the trail. I used to wait until I got on a flat surface and rock it. It would take forever. Now I hit the button and a few seconds later it locks back up.
