Just wanted to share an event some friends and myself attended this past weekend at Mike Keffer Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ramp Dealership in Rocky Mount. The Banana Slap Jeep Club(BSJC) hosted the event in working with Mike Keffer, the owner of the dealership, who is also a member of the club. It was also a Marine Corps Toys-For-Tots donation as well. There was approx 75 Jeeps and over 300 people in attendance. Free burgers and dogs were on the grill as well as free cokes and water.
It was their second Jeep Day and turned out to be a huge success! It was my first time going, as a group of Jeeps made the trip from Raleigh, most in the Raleigh Area Wheelers(RAW) group.
Mike had acquired land behind the dealership and in junction with BSJC, they created an obstacle course with hill climbs, logs, concrete drains, RTI, and a car crush right in the middle of the action.
I must say that this was one of the best Jeep events I've ever been to, even though most the wheeling can be done in 5 mins or less. Being around a huge group of Jeep fans, from 5-85 years old, was an absolute blast! There were Jeeps ranging from CJ-5's to 13' JK's and everything in between. The Banana Slap guys did a great job organizing the event and keeping everyone entertained throughout the whole event with raffles, free food, and all sorts of rigs to look at and ride in!
I'll post about 1/10 of the pics and videos that were taken that day to give ya'll an idea of the turnout and fun we all had. I hope this can get even bigger and maybe get some of the local Jeep/Offroad shops to come out next time.
