I am putting a samurai together that I had planned on doing a 16 valve swap in but a friend of mine is trying to convince me that keeping the 1.3 and going propane will be much simpler and more reliable. I already have the 16 valve w/ harness and ecu but don't have any of the swap parts yet. If I do decide to go propane I will likely sell the 16 valve to fund that. Any opinions?

I have had both propane is stupid simple on a 1.3 and extremely reliable but the. 16v is probly tripple the power and still a great motor just more wires to mess with the 16v is really in another world compared to a 1.3

16v. Send your harness off to Myron (zuksoffroad) and it will come back plug and play. Then all you need is the adapter plate, motor mounts, and a couple hoses. Super simple swap and no reliability issues assuming you start with a good motor.

Ok sounds like I'll go 16v then. Myron has a good price on the harness, I will likely use him sometime after christmas. Can I still run an inline fuel pump and sami gas tank? Also I assume the 16v ps pump isn't strong enough to run hydro assist. So, what ps pump would be a good choice?

I ran mine with the airtex e3000 and stock tank for a little while, then switched to an RCI cell.

For steering, I used the complete trail gear assist kit with a Toyota box.

I already have the toyota ifs box and ram. I just need to figure out ps pump and mount and then lines from the pump to the toyota box

I think they sell their kit in pieces. I bought their pump to just replace my stock pump at first, then added the ram kit later.
