1.3 to a 1.6

i have a buddy wanting to replace his wore out 1.3 motor in his sammi with the 1.6.Is this a bolt in swap? Is the bellhousing pattern the same?clutch etc......Any info would be helpfull.if its a major project, he is just going to put yota driveline in it.but i think the 1.6 would be easier.
Its an 88 i think with some sort of electric power steering with dana 44 front and 12 bolt GM rear with 36s.Gm full size leaf springs.

You need special engine mounts, and an adapter plate between the engine and Samurai transmission. I've got the Petroworks engine swap kit, and the wiring harness was reworked by Trail Tough.

It is a pretty easy swap.

If he wants to stay carbed he won't need the wiring harness, and his carbed intake will bolt on the 8valve 1.6.
