I don't think so either but here goes. 93 yj 4.o ax15 4" rough country lift, headers, 33" Mickey Thompson Baja MTZs. The tags on the diff covers are fubar but was wondering what my gear ratio is so while i was changing oil and stuff (playing around) today I jacked up the rear end, marked the driveshaft and a rear tire. For every 1 tire rev i only got very little more than 1.5 driveshaft revs. Bet I repeated the test 50 times with trans in neutral and a few times with it in 1st gear. My speedometer says 65 mph on the interstate and I am passing cars and using 5th gear so what did I do wrong?

More likely it is 3.07 to one. with an open diff you have to spin the tire 2 times due to the spider gears allowing the other tire to spin in the opposite direction.

Thanks. I figured the open diff had something to do with it. I did scotch the opposite tire for some of the tests but the post I read didnt say the type of diff made any difference so it was kinda driving me more crazy than I already am.
