In the near future I'll be purchasing a 1.75 die for a JD2 model 3 and would like to ask a few questions to those who have spent some hours bending tube. As far as bend radius, what is the best size to get? Do you think the sharper 5.5" radius bends look better cosmetically than the more subtle larger size bends (ie 7.5")? Easiest to work with? etc...

Pics of either or would help out a lot thanks.

I have the 6.5 for my JD2 and it looks good. Honestly, I don't think having a 5.5 would be much different if any. Consider what wall thickness you plan to run on your tubing as well; the tighter radius won't bend the thinner wall tubing as easily without flat spotting more than the larger radius die.

.120 wall DOM tubing, would like to bend .188 as well but for what I'll be doing with it at first just being able to do .120 would get me started.

with either radius I would recommend getting the 180* die vs the 90*.
Absolutely. The little extra money spent for twice the bending ability is no sweat.
