Working with 1" plate today. Lots of fun making it fit the saw....nice challenge working with stuff a little heavier than you usually do.

I'm confused about this. You've got a bracket or whatever out of inch plate, but you've got holes visibly less than 1 diameter from the edge, and visibly less than 1 thickness from the edge, so it's not likely anything structural. You could make it wider and thinner and still be stronger, theoretically speaking.

Bracket on a fertilizer spreader....previous was 2 pcs of 1/4, stacked and welded on the edges....this ought to last. Bounces around with 500# hanging on it.

Small holes are 9/16...they were wallowed but not bad. 1" was thick enough to clamp tight and not flop around, that should help.

Might wanna take a look at most high steer arms we use on Dana 60's. Why? because they don't sheer, or bend. I am sure someone, somewhere, has done one of the other, but I will say I hadn't seen it and, I sure as heck wouldn't want to be in it myself when it happened.
