10 Bolt Brakes

Anyone know if the Rotors and Callipers off 81-88 chevy and GMC fullsize 2WD trucks will work on a 10 bolt front?

I don't know about the calipers, but the 2WD rotors will not work on a 4WD. The 2WD is 5-lug and the 4WD is 6-lug. Plus the 4WD hub/bearing assembly is totally different than a 2WD.

Yea, I figured the Rotors wouldn't work but I was thinking maybe the callipers would work, anyone know?

Calipers are super cheap at the parts store.. why go used?

Your right they are pretty cheap but once you pay for them at $12 a peice and then pads at $18 a pair your paying like $60 whereas free is better. I just like to save as much as possible, lol . Seriously though, anyone know if they would work?

You're right, free is better... Especially on something unimportant like front brakes.

Now - off to buy a rusty body, frame, and engine and call it another "project" vehicle...

Nah man, I havn't had em for that long besides, I'm in college so I can't work on em too often. plus i got distracted this summer and dropped alot of money on a sound system for my truck which I still havnt gotten everything I need to put it in yet.

Go to a parts store website an see if part numbers are
the same, that should clear it up for you.

Nah I checked on the part #'s a while ago the ones for a 2wd have the numbers C222/223 and the ones for the 4 wheel drive have the #'s C528/529. I figured they might still work though because alot of stuff thats only made for one thing still works in another application???

college bla bla bla college bla bla bla no time bla bla bla. im in high school working 30 hours a week and i get done in a hell of a lot less time than you and im still moving at dino speed. hell thad from greensburrow put an entire new drivetrain in his jeep in a month, and thats from driving it with the 304 to wheeling it with the 400. maybe you should slow down on getting more projects and quit making excuses about not finishing stuff

Dude chill out, if you dont have anything constructive to say about 10 bolt brake compatibility then don't post it here.

BTW: Time isn't really the problem it's money, you cant do squat without enough funds

not even a trip to the store. just a trip to www.advanceautoparts.com or something would have been a quick and simple solution. be a cheapass on other parts of the vehicle, not on brakes or steering.
