10 bolt vs d44 parts

Seems like I read somewhere that 10 bolt and 44 axle parts would interchange. I need 8 lug outer stuff for a hp44 and a guy close to me has 8 lug junk(knuckles out) from a 10 bolt. Will this work or should I keep looking? Thanks
 
Thanks Ben. So the knuckles will fit the 44 but the other outer stuff is not interchangeable between the 10 bolt and the 44, is that correct?
 
all the outer stuff, from the inner C's out will interchange between the GM Dana44, 10 bolt, and FSJ Dana 44 (i think)... but the outer knuckles/spindles/shafts are different on ford, dodge, and IH dana 44s

so if you get everything from the 10bolt, knuckles out, itll bolt up to your inner C's
