Why dont you take the money that you would be spending on bail and getting your trucks out of impound and send it to Southern to help with the legal expenses.I guess that is askin too much since you can't spring for the $5 here to get a red star.:shaking:
Just sayin.

I've donated. What good has that done exactly? Not trying to be an asshole, just wondering. I almost think the guy has a point.

Probably not much more than it has,but it's still a better ideal than what he's proposed.

No offense to those who have been working there butts off, but all this convention thinking and playing by the rules has gotten us nowhere. Maybe some outside the box thinking might stand a chance. We can't compete with letters, petitions, or clout. The other side has exponentially more money and bodies, and they are playing the green card. Our only chance is to create a stir and find someway to tug at the heartstrings of those who can have an affect.

Like I said civil disobediance aint my style, but it does have a place.....I mean Rosa could have just walked to the back of the bus.

If you guys wanna do it that's cool.Let me know when and I'll come watch. I dont remember if it was here or on Pirate but the last time their was even casual mention of this they had cops and/or rangers all over the place on that day.Of coarse just showin up in force w/the threat of doin it might get attention.

hell yeh!

you guys are talkin now. the only reason i don't pay the $5 is because i already pay $50 a month for the web and it comes with e-mail which sends and receives pictures just fine. i am not in need of red star....no offense nc4x4 but send me a sticker with the deal and the $5 is yours!

Most people send the 5$ not just for pictures but to support this great site.:shaking:

It's sad when you don't feel that $5.50 a year isn't worth the money to support a site you enjoy. Since you have been here as a registered user you have been modded twice. Both for the same rule infraction. Have you read the rules yet? Now, you try and stir the pot with a bunch of BS. There is a fight going on. A legal fight that is. We may win, we may not. But doing as you suggest will do nothing more than give the wheelin community a blacker eye than it already has. Are you in a club? No, that's one way you support what you love to do. Did you write a letter to your representative? I doubt it. You have some stinkin thinkin, and need a check up, from the neck up. From reading all of your previous post, I doubt you know what or understand the concept of tread lightly. Guess what, that's more ammunition against our group. If you would read with the same devotion as you spout off BS, you would go far. Bottom line, what have you done to support the fight against the Tellico closure? What have you done to support this site? What have you done to support anything?

IF Rob sends you a sticker when and if you ever pay your $5.50 yearly due, I will peel mine off of my truck, RV and Jeep

Man !!! So many different angles. I'm not sure where I will end up in this debate. I did pay the $5.50 but have only been to one event(The Flats). I've never been to any of the places you list or mention, but I did copy and paste a letter to several representatives and got 10 replies. I'm not a club member and have only spoken to 1 person about membership. When I was younger I was the "Hell yea lets do it" type and now I more of a "keep it legal, because I can't afford the fines and don't want to go to jail" type. Which is right??? Who knows but, I have found it takes all kinds to make things happen. Which holds the biggest problem"Coordinated efforts" Good luck with that and keep wheel-in LEGAL

Dude I have survived the last few weeks on whatever canned stuff is in my cabinet and lots of ramen noodles...

and, I still have that star next to my name

5.50 a year is a drop in the hat, even for me.

I agree with Jeff, I think nick's heart is in the right place, just going about it wrong, though I do appreciate his passion.

My .02.

At one time in this fight I might have supported some sort of demonstrating as a means of getting our point across. I don't think at this point in the fight that that would help our cause. We are in an administrative process that is clearly outlined in federal regulations. It is the law. You might not like it but right now it's the way things are going to happen.

The ONLY persons that have any potential to affect the final outcome of this battle are a couple of federal judges and they are not going to be impressed or swayed by a demonstration of our frustration with the Tellico situation.

Like I said, we are approaching the end of a clearly defined administrative process. We have had our chances to provide our input and thoughts to the Forest Service, the USDA and our elected officials. We have had the opportunity to appeal the FS decision to close the area. Now we will have a chance to provide our side of the issue to a court of law.

This option is not free, like NC4x4 is. There will be lawyer fees and court costs involved in bringing suit against the FS in federal court. We have had our chance to attend FS meetings on Tellico, we have had our chance to send them our comments, we have had our chance to contact our elected officials, we have had our chance to sway public opinion. Now we have our chance to proceed with legal due process. It will cost $. IMO, the ONLY way that any one of us individually, or as a group of 4x4 enthusiasts, can help the Tellico cause is by financially supporting this inevitable legal fight when it starts. The Rescue Tellico Coalition lawyers are still determining how best to go about presenting our legal case and I will do my best to keep everyone informed of events as the case progresses.

1 year NC4x4 support = the cost of 1 beer at a bar.
A pretty straighforward choice, really.

well

when even the moderator is putting you down what do ya do? the 1st my bad was understandable i tried to trade a hand held weapon 4 something on here ,the 2nd was in general chit chat about going to the archery shop "trying" a new mathews z7,didn't think that would be a problem.but it got put in the garage.some people even typed fu i hope your plane crashed in one post they didn't get in trouble, and to the guy who eats very little, i bet you don't have the nice things i have you know, the things that cost money.. wife ,3 kid's ,a very nice house, cars, a shop and i eat just fine everyday!! if you are eating can food everyday then do something about it and stop crying!!!! anyways i'm just trying to stand up for our love of the sport ,which i'm not feeling welcome in any more. but if i need to i'll send you $10 or even more to support the site that i love and you can keep the sticker!!!

and to the rest of you thanks for playing alone!!Thanks for not being all :poop: about it!
'

if you had read the rules in the first place you wouldnt have had those problems....oh and dont gloat about having nice things...not all of us are so lucky and we make do with what we have...macdaddy was making an example..so dont be a douche

Is there any way to know the exact number of paid members, b/c my bet is the paying members are the ones that really care about the local trails. A step further, how many of those paying memebrs log in at least once a week? That 11,718 member number is dropping fast.

I say we listen to JC, because as most of us know, he is our local contact with regards to the Tellico issue.

As for the comment about having nice things... what does that have to do with anything? Macdaddy was just putting the $5.50 into perspective. Just like saying $5.50 for a year is about $0.015 a day.

yeh

i'm not, i'm just saying if you don't have it do something about it! it's not my fault i have things believe me not one damn thing has be given to me!!

whatever the hell this asshole said.
'

Im in college, you know, that higher learning deal that costs money? Dunno if you attended, but the more :poop: that comes out of your mouth, the less I believe that you did.

Truth be told, only reason I have been eating that way is because my bank account got hacked. Ive got plenty of money for "nice things" but I cant get any of it currently.

If you truly want to stand up for the love of our sport, and you truly can afford nice things, then pony up the 5.50 and no one would bitch at you about it. :shaking:
