I installed a 14 bolt 10.5" FF detroit locker and it seems that the locker allows the wheels to have a excessive amount of play between forward and reverse. Looking a image of the detroit it appears that the teeth layout migt allow quite a bit of movement...is this normal?
This isn't my first locker install by any means, but can this be installed in a wrong fashion to allow excessive "tire backlash" or is this normal to the function of this locker?
I've got 5.38 gears and the pinion appears to be able to turn approx. 1/4 turn maximum before the locker begins turning the tires...
