I know a lot of different places sell brackets, both weld on and bolt on. I just picked up a 14b and would like to hear your opinions on the conversion. What did you use, and how did it work for you? Thanks

14b disc brake

I assume you are talking about a full floater, if so I used
Sky Manufacturing's bolt on brackets. I liked them because
they don't use any spacers and used all stock caliper and
rotors. I used the same 3/4 calipers and rotors as on the front.

I got mine from Greaklakesoffroad Bolt on, does use spacers. Zero problems. Calipers mount with bleeder at the top for good bleeding. I would buy them again. Oh and it also uses 3/4 calipers from a mid 80's 3/4 ton

i had less than 100 in my whole set up . olivers weld on brackets and gm rotors and calipers from advance

Thanks for the replies guys. I think I'll try the sky brackets. What year, make & model rotors and calipers are best? Any difference?

mid 80s models camaros or caprice calipers and the late 80s 3/4 ton suburban rotors. the only problem i found was that i had to take some of the pad off to clear the rotor

Same here.

14b disc brake

I used 85 3/4 ton rotors and calipers, because I wanted
everything front and rear to interchange. If you go that route
they will probably ask you if you have JB5 or JB7 calipers. The
difference is piston dia. I went with JB7 the bigger of the two.
If I had to do it over, I might try the Jb5 to get better line
pressure. I have 1 1/4 Dia. 3/4 ton master cyl. and adj.
proportion valve.
For the emergency brake I used seperate Fr and Rr line locks.
Have used this setup for over a year with no problems. Also
with the Sky brackets and this caliper the bleeder will be at the top.
Hope this helps.

I am using the Blue Torch Fab kit on my J-10 so I can clear the rear springs after the shackle inversion.

They have more clocking holes in the bracket.
