I have a SRW 14B that I’ve been wanting to change the drums out to disk brakes. The two questions that I have are, where should I get the brackets and if I decided to sell it after the swap how much would it be worth?

DIY4x.com has a decent kit, along with GubNi here on the forum. After the swap, it depends on what you're including with the sale, and what all has been done internally to the axle. If it's stock with the discs, I wouldn't expect to get more than maybe $2-300 for the complete assembly, and only slightly more for lower gears and lockers.

While I know you never get back what you put into these things, I have to disagree.

The disc swap alone will run $200 easy by the time you have calipers, rotors, brackets, hoses, etc all paid for (closer to $500 on our '01 3500, I priced it about 6 weeks ago with eldorado calipers). Add in another $150 +/- for a 14b in the 4.10 or 4.56 variety (not at all uncommon stock).

The way I see it, shave it, disc it, as long as its geared decently you could look for $5-600 out of it and that would be completely fair.

"Slightly more for gears and lockers?"

When's the last time you saw a SRW, ton-truck, FF rear end with discs, gears deeper than 4.56 and a locker for slightly more than $300?

I sell a complete kit cheaper than you can buy the parts at most parts stores.

My kit cost $315 shipped. I think it would inprove the resale value about $200. It's always worth more new than used.

I agree and GubNi's kit is a nice setup, I've installed one myself.
