We're gearing up for the 14th annual Veterans Day Ride at Uwharrie. Mark your calendars and join us 11/8 - 11/10. The event is free and open to all.

For those on Facebook, you can check out additional details on the event page Log into Facebook

This year, we're looking at having t-shirts available for sale at the event and gauging interest for sizing needs. We're looking at tri-blend super soft, true to size options. So, help us plan and get those votes in (please!!!!)

Also, if you're interested in helping with the event either by volunteering or donating raffle items, reach out to @Mulishajoe @tobaccoroad4wd or @Mrxdieselx

I'll be there, but may need a seat (360 still inoperable after getting "crippled in the creek" 🤬, but not throwing in the towel just yet 🤫)
I'll have a seat. Btw, not sure who's guiding Uwharrie trails. But I'm game to help pull rear guard or other duties.

We're less than a month away - make plans to come see us & watch me struggle counting raffle tickets! For those not on Facespace, here's more info on this year's event. Also, we'll have t-shirts available so bring cash & get some awesome swag for a good cause. This year, all proceeds are heading to Purple Heart Homes & Wreaths for Veterans.

Details for this year’s Uwharrie Veterans Day Ride are as follows: Date, November 9th, 2024

Camping is available at no charge Friday 11/8 and Saturday 11/9. If you plan to camp we ask that you please keep the area clean, there will be a trailer located by the barn for trash removal.

We have access to Big Creek, if you are interested please send us a message. There is unfortunately a $40 charge to ride at Big Creek this year (it is worth the cost as the trails are very challenging but passable by most 4x4 vehicles). In years past this has only been offered to Veterans but due to having to charge we will open it to any event attendees. There will be a 20 vehicle max for Big Creek so send a message as soon as possible and we will let you know how to secure your spot.

We will have trail guides available to lead groups into the forest. There will be 2 groups for easy, moderate, and hard.

Easy group 1: LakeView‐‐>FallsDam-->RockyMntLower
Easy group 2:
RockyMntLower-->LakeView-->FallsDam
Moderate group 1: DickeyBell-->RockymntUpper-->DutchJohn
Moderate group 2:
RockymntUpper-->DutchJohn-->DickeyBell
Hard group 1:
Daniel-->DickeyBell-->Dutch John
Hard group 2:
DutchJohn-->Daniel-->DickeyBell

Groups can run more trails as time permits, this will be up to the trail guides per group suggestions.

You will need to purchase a trail pass if you will be going in the forest.

The scouts will have chili ready at 3:30 Saturday afternoon.

At 5 o’clock, the ceremony will begin with retiring the colors. During the ceremony, there will also be a guest speaker, and challenge coins presented to all current military and veterans in attendance.

Chairs will not be available this year during the ceremony so please bring some thing to sit on.

Immediately following the ceremony will be the raffle, there will also be a few items in a silent auction. Winners of the silent auction will be announced at the start of the raffle. There will be burn barrels going during the raffle. Every year previously it has got cold pretty quickly. Please come prepared to stay warm.

Any questions or to sign up for the private rides, reach out to @Mulishajoe @Keith1138 @tobaccoroad4wd @Mrxdieselx or me

The Moderate group I'm leading will do everything possible including the back side of Daniel to the top. Probably start out on Rocky Mountain loop, working over to Dutch John, back over to Lakeview, then Falls Dam to Dickey Bell and then Rocky Mountain loop from the double parking lot to the back side of Daniel.

That looks like a great plan. For each group we have planned the first three trails out to help make sure we don't have groups running into each other. You are welcome to lead your group on any of the other trails after the planned route is accomplished. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
