Hi folks i got some 15x14s and i want that real baloon look like them trucks in hawaii lol no bigger than a 33" tall how wide should i go to get the baloon look? Any advice is apreciated thanks also any links to Pics so i could see

I use 8" wide wheels with 33's.. 10" wide wheels will make them look a little balooned. I wouldn't use anything wider than that. I'd say you'd have a hard time mounting a set of 33 12.50s on a 14" wide wheel:shaking:

but it can been done...

anyway, a guy around here ran 33x14.00 boggers on 14" wheels for a while.

If you have a wider wheel than the tire, you will probably blow a bead on the trail unless you run alot of air in them. Imagine how hard it will be to seat that on the trail.

I would not want to run a tire that was narrower than the rim...not the way they are designed at all...

a 12.5 on a 14 I'd seriously wonder if it could blow the bead at speed cornering.

Form needs to follow function as always IMHO....

If you got a big wide-assed inner tube, you could probably get it to fit.
But it will look really weird

You're probably going to need at least 1/2" more tire than wheel.

You are relatively new and local...we need more York folks.

The width is thee tread section width, by design the bead will be narrower than the tread section...so a 12.5 inch wide tire (33x12.5x15) will most likely be more like 11.5 wide at the bead area.

Now you want that to seal to a 14" wide rim. If you make it stick it wont stick well and if you off road at all the bead will break free leaving a flat (No issue for you, you said no off roading...have to wonder why you would want a 33" tall tire on a 4x4 and never off road but i digress) it can happen even on the road...a good rule of thumb to me is the tire should be 3-4" wider than the rim.

BTW if you evwr get that to seal it will wear very fast and ride like absolute ass.

I had trouble with the bead on 32x11 bfgs mounted on a 10" wheel. and they never seen trail riding.

i just like the "baloon" look. yes a buddy of mine has some pit bull rockers on 14 wides and his tires did wear fast. check out this link on youtube.. i like some of these baloon tire looks. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-JqZ-hZiAYs

thanks for everyones concern and forewarning. I have took in consideration of the tire coming un-beaded on road... i will reconsider... its just idk if i have enough lift to run a 35x15.50x15 on a 14 wide... o well.. ill trash this idea then.. lol thanks people..

For heavens sake, it's York. You know, the parking lot tug-of-war capitol of the world.

Well, at least you've got a good start for the big island stupidwide tire setup, a mid 90's toy. Next, how many chrome shocks per corner and stickers do you have? If you can find a shop that can mount them, 15x14's and 33" boggers are where it's at.

OK OK so No One else sees it but this is Obviously a Joke.I mean did you look at the Video He Mentioned???I live off Angier Ave in Durham so trust me I see this all the time,195/50/15's on 15X10 Rims or 295/50/15's on 15X14 rims running on a lowered Blazer.I also see them parked beside Pot Holes because it unseated the Bead under normal tire pressure,I wave as I go by.Besides he Doesn't even Spell Balloon right and I feel like I should be hearing "the Chicken Dance" in the Video He references.
well. lol.. i took my 36x12.50s to my buddys tire shop and we tryed and tryed to mount them to my 15x14s .. we failed :( so i was thinkin some 33x13.50x15 ltbs???
Who Even contemplates running 12.5 tires on a 14 wide rim??That's not Ballooned it's Dangerous,or maybe that's just me.

Idc how i spell on here. People understood wat i ment, all that matters. And yes i expiremented with my 12.50s. O well. Its no joke.

i had a set of 35 x15.50 sx on 15x12 wheels and they never had a problem with the bead. they were mainly street driven with trips to the beach. they did excellent on the sand due to the wide footprint. i am thinking thats why they do this in hawaii for the flotation to drive on the beaches. me, i think they look cool!:fuck-you:
