New to Jeeps and I have a rim/tire size question. I have a 76 CJ7 with a 3" lift. It currently has 15x8 rims with 33x12.50x15 tires. I wanted to widen the stance by going with 15x10's and keeping the same tire size. I noticed most are running 15x8 with same size tires as mine. Is there a particular reason for the 15x8's? This jeep is not a rock crawler, just doing some light trails and beach driving. Thanks in advanced.

The narrower rim will help keep crap from getting jammed down between the tire and lip of the rim which will cause air to leak out. The narrower rim doesn't prevent it, but it will help. It also allows you to run lower air pressure than the wider rim before the tire will blow off the bead and go flat.
