Renee's grandfather bought one new in 1925. Found the receipt and payment contract tonight.

We are sorting thru old family pics....really hope a car pic shows up.

This is interesting...just posted on VGG yesterday. Tour of the the highland park ford plant, where they made these cars. Neat seeing Henry Fords office from back when.


Watched that last night, and it was really cool! Besides, the fact that I absolutely love watching vice grip garage!
 
It's not that the car was under $500, or that payments were only twenty-some dollars, but the fact that an ordinary working man could pay half down, and pay it off in only 12 months.

Well, it wasn't much more than a barrel on a frame with wheels and a motor.
Today's cars have more creature comforts than a house and more tech than a space shuttle.

Yeah, but they also weren't paying for "necessities" like internet, new phones smartphones and smart watches every few months, television, Netflix, Amazon prime, new shoes every week, designer clothes, and the hundred other things people think they can't live without. Then they complain they don't make enough money.
