Ok, so I'm not much help here but...

Neighbor looking at a 47/48 Willy, down in Florida. Local put eyes on it.. rust free, "all original, near like the day it rolled off the line" 4cyl engine. Assuming manual transmission. They're asking 6k, and it's an estate sale. Nada says 8k-21k depending on condition/originality. I don't have any pics to share. 6k seem right, or high? Only thing I've been told is it's rust free and original, like it rolled off the line.

What say ye experts?

I told him value on something like that is in the eye of the buyer. Some person might see 20k, I might see $500, even if it's perfect, just because it is old and hard to get anything for inexpensively and it's not my mug of beer.

I'd say if it's "...near like the day it rolled off the line" then I'd pay it. That's a real good price IMO.

I've seen minty looking restores go for $15k-$20k.

Just like you said, the value of older CJ-2A or CJ-3A can vary depending on the "eye of the buyer". If it has a title and is clean, then I would say that's a pretty good price. You also didn't post the model, so I'm assuming its a 2A. If its military then it would bring more. eWillys | Your source for Jeep and Willys deals, mods and more is a cool website to browse to give you an idea of what people are asking.

Older picture.. he's going to try to get me some more recent.

I would want current pictures for that price. I've seen some Fl stuff and it not be so rust free....

well yeah.. my neighbor had someone down there look at it.. apparently after talking with my neighbor he said owner (that passed away) paid 6g for it when he bought it and was trying to find out a price to offer on it, but if there truly worth 15-30, he's out of the running anyway.. the owner had some other military vehicles also and was part of a collector club or something so I'm sure whoever is selling it likely has a pretty good idea of what it's worth.

Thanks for all the replies.
