So I've been enjoying my 1300 for a few years now. I've upgraded a few things like the addition of a NV4500. One of the best things that was done.
I've ran 36" and 37" Military tires with great results but I was never really fully satisfied with the look or performance of them with my requirements.
So I came across a new set of 11.00R16 Michelin XL tires. I was looking for the 9.00R16 with no luck so I figured I would give the 11.00s a shot. They measure 38.75 tall, 10" wide and have a load capacity of 4520lbs. The bead area and sidewall are very thick.
I mounted them on stock 16x7 Ford 8 lug wheels that have a 4 1/4 backspacing. I then bolted them on the truck and took them for a ride.
Even though I did not balance them they ride excessively smooth and handle better than any tire so far. The rear fits with a simple adjustment to the lower fender brace to push the opening out just a bit. The fronts fit but my fenders were both mangled when I got the truck so one side hit where the other did not. I ended up trimming about an 1 1/2" from the forward portion of the wheel opening. Things are good now.
This truck is my 100% daily driver and I've probably put 30-35,000 miles on it in 2 years. It is not an off road truck but it will occasionally be asked to. With the style of wheels I run the tires do not hit anything even the front springs or drag link.
Thought I would share. Feel free to ask any questions.
