1974 Cherokee t-case swap??

A friend of mine just bought a 1974 Jeep Cherokee chief and is wanting to swap out the transfer case so it does not have Quadra trac anymore. Has anyone done this or know what the options are. It has a 360 with the TH400 transmission. And also has the offset rear axle. looking for something simple and straightforward but all options and recommendations are welcome.

That's kind of what I have been gathering but figured I'd ask here cause you all would point me (him) in the right direction. Looks like a rebuild is in order and just stick with the QT.

It's costly to swap just the quadratrac. id swap the trans with a transfer case that is more desirable. It will likely be much cheaper
