I have a 79 f150 4x4 and the head lights will flicker on and off at random times, I have put new head lights in the truck. It seems that the headlights are the only lights coming on and off, any advice would be great! Thanks.

i had the same problem in a 77 ford van. ended up being the dimmer switch
on the floor. did it mostly on high beam. new switch fixed her right up.

Dimmer switch. 100% certain. Know this too well....

Ain't it a good feeling though going down a dark road and suddenly it's like a blind fold was slipped over your head. :)

+1 on the foot dimmer.
2 bolts and a plug on harness.

Keep one in the glove box of the 65.

ON mine it was the headlight switch - also easy to change once you get the new one find the release button on it and then you will know how to get it out.

I noticed I didn't have any grounds on my motor to frame or motor to cab that I could see, so I put 2 ground straps on it. Gonna drive it tonight and see if that made a difference. If not then I'll get a new dimmer switch 2moro. Thanks guys, I appreciate the wisdom.

Always a dimmer switch on my ford trucks.they are cheap.I would replace it if it hasn't been done in awhile

Dimmer switch is first suspect, headlight switch ing dash is second, especially if there have been lights added to the running light circuit.

learned this lesson early on when i 16. 76 f100. both the dimmer switch and the dash plunger.
